24-Hour Run Event for the Stillbirth Foundation

Starting on the 28th of January, a group of 9 Westminster School students from the Class of 2020 will be running for 24 hours in the hopes of raising invaluable funds for the Stillbirth Foundation. Luke McCranor - a member of our group - and his family have unfortunately been affected by stillbirth, with his older sister Celeste McCranor passing away at birth.

Those who know the McCranor family personally are aware of their remarkable generosity and warm nature. We as a group are grateful to have experienced this for many years as close friends of Luke. With this in mind, we have decided to embark on this challenge in support of Michelle McCranor, StillBirth Foundation Ambassador, who will also be completing a 100km Ultra-Trail Run this May through the Blue Mountains in NSW! Some group members have other individual connections to Stillbirth through family and friends, and we recognise how dreadfully common cases of stillbirth and miscarriage are. 

 

Our mission is to raise awareness for the Stillbirth Foundation who provide resources and guidance to help Australian families dealing with the grief of losing a child. Their impact also extends into advocacy, and research which hopes to develop prevention measures that reduce the occurrence of preventable Stillbirth. Equally, we hope to add to Michelle's donation tally in preparation for her event in May. Michelle is extremely involved and passionate about helping other women and couples who have shared their experience.

 

This group of 10 includes Harvey Bock, Luke McCranor, Harry Leaker, Kaine Baldwin, Willis Hammond-Brown, Kurt Schenk, Oscar Williams, Jack Forrest, Travis Mickan and Connor Blackwell. 

 

Aside from asking for your support and donation, we also are inviting any other groups to register and join us for will be running for 24 hours. The run will be completed at Westminster School, around the Senior School Ovals, whilst being based in the Thomas Pavilion. There will be food and team equipment provided for participants.
