24 Days. 24 Children. 240km for Alder Hey.

Starting on the 12th of May 2025, I’ll be taking on a 24-day challenge to complete the equivalent of 10 kilometres every day — a total of 240km — in support of Alder Hey Children’s Charity. This cause is especially close to our hearts at Blueberry Park Primary School.

Each day of the challenge will be dedicated to one of the incredible children in my Year 3 class. One of those children knows first-hand just how vital Alder Hey’s work is. After an accident that left him with a fractured skull and a blood clot, Alder Hey provided world-class treatment, care, and support throughout his long recovery. Thanks to their outstanding team and facilities, he’s now back in school, back with his friends, and back doing what he loves. The challenge will end on the 4th of June, the date of the child's birthday who received this treatment! *Parental Consent to share*

Alder Hey is one of Europe’s leading children’s hospitals, caring for over 330,000 young patients each year. The charity funds life-saving equipment, ground-breaking research, and comforting environments that make an unimaginable time easier for children and their families.

While the original plan was to run 10km each day, a recent knee injury has forced me to adapt the challenge. I’ll still be covering the full 240km – whether by running, walking, rowing 10km on the RowErg, cycling 20km, or taking on other demanding alternatives. Some of the amazing staff from Blueberry Park – and hopefully others – may be joining in along the way too!
