all for Chris

I'm not very good at this kind of thing. Nor am I very good at asking for help, but this one I can't do alone. My name is Tina Miller and I'm making a plea for my boyfriend, Chris George. He has been diagnosed with stage 4, non-small cell carcinoma, which has metastasized to his brain. Traditional treatments will only give him 6 to 12 more months of life with questionable quality. Chemo started immediately with near devastating results. Radiation was next. Chris's oncologist said that was the only way to treat the brain, to slow down the cancer. Once treatment started he was no longer able to work. He struggles with pain on a daily basis. I'm not sure what is causing the most pain, the cancer or the side effects of his treatment. I love this man dearly! I’m not willing to believe that this is the end of our story. All through treatment research has continued, we have found some very promising alternatives. Chris' case is more difficult because of the cancer in his brain. Few things actually make it past the blood brain barrier. His mother found a facility in Colorado that claims to be able to do just that. Chris will have to fly out there to begin treatment and continue the medication at home for 90 days. At that point a return trip will be required. Then again every 90 days as long as the results continue to be positive. Unfortunately, this alternative treatment is not approved by his medical insurance. So we will be paying out of pocket. I'm not quite sure how yet. We are currently struggling with only my income. But we, and by "we", I mean everyone who loves and supports Chris.......But WE have the will and GOD has the way.

Our story...Chris and I first met during high school while in Germany. Both members of military families. We were together until his family got orders and had to return state side. I was crushed. At 16 I thought  I couldn’t live without him. My family left Germany when I was 18. Once I was on the same side of the ocean as Chris, I decided I was going to look him up. It took a little doing, no Facebook back then. I found him though and he was only a state away. So, a short drive later we were reunited for a weekend. I was SO excited to see him again that I asked him if he wanted to come home with me. I know, maybe a little reckless, but I was in love. He did! Together again for the second time. Eventually a little trouble he caused in his younger years caught up with him. He had to leave. Court and probation had us in different states again. Life continued and we lost track of each other. Then along came Facebook. Years had passed. By the time I found him on Facebook he was a married man with 3 beautiful little girls. I initiated contact. He accepted my friend request, and we spent a little time catching up. He showed me pictures of his girls. I showed him pictures of my 3 boys. It was nice to hear from him again. He was a married man though so after first contact we really didn't talk for several years. Then one day quite some time later, one of his posts caught my eye. I don't remember what it was, doesn't matter. We got to talking. He'd gotten divorced a few years prior. We talked more and more, worked  up to visiting each other. One weekend I came for a visit and didn't go back. Together again! Everyone said the third time was the charm. People called us the modern day Brady Bunch. It hasn't been 2 years yet and we got the devastating news about Chris's health.

I don’t want to lose this man again! His girls shouldn't have to be without him. He needs to be there when his youngest graduates high school or when it’s time to walk them down the aisle. After being separated twice for reasons beyond our control, I just cannot allow myself to accept that this is supposed to be how our story ends.

Any and all contributions will be used towards treatment, travel expenses and (I am ashamed to say) helping offset living expenses. Thank you in advance for the hope in making a HUGE difference. I believe there is a cure. I also believe that because the FDA won't approve it and insurance companies will not pay for it, most people won’t find it.

We are humbly asking for your PRAYER and your donation. Please share and encourage your friends to donate. Every little bit will make a huge impact!

Please be aware that GoFundMe gets 5% of every donation. If you would like your donation to be 100% for the cause,  Instant Message me and I'll be grateful to send you more info.
