I've been asked to create this gofundme on behalf of family members, for the benefit of my niece. Because the person that would normally make this is the one you would be helping. This IS the ONLY official gofundme.
This past Friday, 8/14/20, my niece Jessica Forshey and two of her friends were involved in a SEVERE car accident. The calls her parents received are not ones any parent EVER wants to hear, that your child is being taken to the trauma unit. All three of them are lucky to have made it out of that car alive. They are living proof that seat belts and air bags save lives. But when your car is hit broadside and flipped from a vehicle traveling at what is a presumed to be a high rate of speed, you still don't walk away unscathed.
Jess suffered multiple rib fractures, an arm fracture (that still can't be casted), and several internal injuries with bleeding. Today she was taken into surgery to repair a tear in her aorta that would have resulted in us loosing her had they not done so. The surgery was successful, but Jessica faces a very long road in her recovery.
Less than a week before the accident, Jessica, her twin 3 1/2 year old boys and their father just moved back to North Carolina for a fresh start. A new beginning. This is not how this family, our family, expected their new beginning to wind up. While prayers are still needed for Jessica's recovery, financial help is also needed. We are asking for donations to help support this family and get them through this horrific mess. No donation is too small, nor will it go unappreciated.
