Wheatland Union High School Booster
Donation protected
The Wheatland Union High School booster club has historically done great things for the high school. They have hosted many fundraisers over the years to assist the high school in multiple projects. These fundraisers have provided much needed sports equipment, campus improvements, band trips, snack bar equipment, club donations as well as many other contributions. Unfortunately over the last several months there have been some red flags in relation to the finances of the booster club, such as unpaid invoices, lack of treasurer’s report and returned checks. This led several parents to start asking a lot of questions and pushing for answers with information to back it up. The information was never produced. However there has been an admission by the treasurer of wrong doing. The treasurer is cooperating with the local police department. There is a full investigation underway at this time. There is no dollar amount of the short comings at this time, but there is nothing left in our bank account. The parents of the boosters club feel strongly that this club is a vital part of the high school as a whole. It has been decided that the club will regroup with a new set of parents and volunteers to be on the board and serve the community alongside the high school. There will be new procedures in place to prevent any mismanagement or mishandling in the future. At this point the first order of business will be to make sure that all outstanding balances are paid in full including some scholarships. There are some very fun and exciting events on the calendar for this upcoming school year. The parents know this community will rally behind their children and help by making this club what it needs to be.
