Hi! My name is Melanie Bienvenu and I am trying to help my daughters Godmother,Lynnell, get back on her feet.
She is a very hardworking woman who has been a server at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for 30+ years and she has been dealing with a series of serious issues in her left leg for the past 2 years.
In Febuary of 2014 after complaining of a lot of pain in her left leg she had multiple X-rays, a cast, a boot, crutches, a ton of physical therapy and was out of work for 4 months. She was then told she would have to have surgery on December 11, 2014, which would in turn put her out of work for another 4 months. During this time she had to deplete her savings to pay her bills, including medical and keep a float. She was motivated and determined to get back to work and while she did her leg never felt 100%.
Fast forward to April 15, 2016, Lynnell was at work and this intense pain brought her to her knees. Her body was on fire, she had chills, fever and an unbearable pain in her leg. She was rushed to the emergency room and after more X-rays and blood work she was diagnosed with cellulitis. She stayed in the hospital for 5 days with excruciating pain. In addition to cellulitis she was told she had a terrible staph infection as well. After 19tubes of blood and a bone scan Lynnell had emergency surgery on her left leg. She remained in the hospital for 5 more days where her sugar, blood pressure and oxygen dropped. After the doctors got her levels normal she was released to go home with a pic in her arm so she could give herself IV antibiotics 3 times a day to try and control the infection.
Lynnell will be out of work for at least 6-8 weeks and the medical bills have already started to pour in in addition to other bills, such as rent and utilities. With having to deplete her savings account from the first surgery she really needs our help.
She is one of the most important people in my life and it breaks my heart that such a wonderful, hardworking person has to endure what she has.
I started this fund because I know that she would do the same for anyone going through the same thing.
