Hi my name is Ashley. My moms name is Carol. She is 62 years old and she is a medical assistant in a doctors office. At the end of September my mother started to feel sick at work one day. She went home early. A couple days later we spoke on the phone and she let me know she still wasn't feeling well so she decided to go to the hospital. She was diagnosed with Covid that day. She was then admitted and isolated right away. Within 3 days they were deciding to put her on a ventilator. She agreed because she was struggling. Since that moment we have been on an uphill battle. She was diagnosed with covid clots we found out the next day. She is now completely sedated and 100% reliant on the ventilator. We decided to transfer to a different hospital where they had someone who specialized in the surgery to remove the large clot in her elbow before she lost her arm. She endured a 6.5 surgery to remove the clots. We are now onto day 25 of the ventilator. She is down to 60% on the ventilator and drs are hoping to put a trache in for her to try to be weaned off of the ventilator at some point. This is the plan. She has worked in this drs office for 11 years and has accumulated lots of paid days off. Enough to cover 3 more pay periods but at this point, it is not enough. She will need months of rehabilitation if she can pull through this. So I am asking for help. She is the best mother to myself and my brother. She is the most amazing grandmother to my children. She is an awesome friend and person in general. I understand if you dont feel like this is something you would like to donate to but if you could donate a prayer that would be much appreciated as well. Thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely,
A scared daughter.
