Everyone who knows Carmen Coxwell probably knows the many triumphs she has achieved throughout her life. There is no doubt our Heavenly Father has a special plan for this angel.
Many of you know that a few years ago, Carmen got a virus that attacked her heart and damaged it to the point that it could not work on its own. She had to wear a battery pack 24x7x365 that powered her LVAD (which allowed her heart to function). Carmen has been on the heart transplant list ever since.
Exactly 6 days short (August 10, 2016) of the 4 year anniversary (August 16, 2012) of that life-changing virus attack, Carmen received her heart transplant. Glory to God!
Carmen and her husband, Dee, will have to remain near the hospital for a minimum of six more weeks. Much preparation is required prior to Carmen's return home (sterilization & precautionary measures to support a healthy new heart, such as carpet removal and such). Additionally, once they come home, she will have required medications that are very costly.
So many family members, friends, and friends of friends have asked what they can do to help. This fund has been set up on behalf of Carmen and all proceeds will go directly to her and her precious family.
