Breck's Knee Surgery Fund

As most of you know, our son Shea was born with a complex, severe series of heart defects. These defects will require Shea to have three open heart surgeries by the time he is 3 years old, a few other heart procedures, and consistent heart EKGs and echocardiograms. Shea and I have been under constant care since we first found this all out at my 20 week ultrasound.
Luckily, Jake and I have great health insurance which is covering a lot of our health care bills and hospital stays. However, we just got news that now our sweet yellow lab, Breck, has to get surgery as well. Last summer she started limping on one of our walks. I brought her to the vet and it turned out that she had a floating kneecap, meaning her kneecap was sliding out of place multiple times a day. Each month her condition worsened and at our last vet visit they explained to us that she must be in a lot of pain. We were told that not only does she need surgery to repair her kneecap, but they think she tore her ACL as well.
Our son is due for his second surgery at the end of the summer, which requires that we get Breck’s surgery done as soon as possible to ensure that she is healed before we need to leave her in the care of family and friends while we stay with Shea at the hospital.
Breck’s surgery is going to cost around $6,000. Between the co-pays and constant doctor visits for Shea, and the fact that I’ve taken 5 months off from work to care for him, we are reaching out to our family and friends who have seen us through some of the most difficult times.
If you are able to help us pay for Breck’s surgery in any way, we would greatly appreciate it. In this stressful time, we can’t put a price on peace of mind, and that is what you would be helping to give us. Breck is a member of our family and we are going to get her the surgery she needs regardless of the cost, but having help from family and friends can make all the difference for us. Thank you!
Love, Jake, Rachel, Shea, and BRECK!
