Chris' Rehab Journey
Donation protected
On April 13, 2014 my son Chris was struck by a car while walking and suffered many fractures and a severe traumatic brain injury.
Two years later and the bones have healed and much slow progress has been made.
Chris is working very hard to walk and he is getting there slowly, but surely.
Our dilemma is that every time we get on a roll in therapy, we have to stop because insurance runs out.
We have been doing therapy at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and they have been great. We have also done some therapy at Meadow's Wellness Center as well.
We would like to have someone continue therapies and stay on a steady path so that we don't lose what he has gained in his most recent stay in Atlanta, Georgia. We were told two years ago that Shepard would cost $140,000.00 out of pocket so that is why I chose this number as a goal. If Shepard will not take him then we need to try to build a home gym that will mimic what he's used in the hospital gym.
Our family would be most gracious if someone will point us in a direction or enable us to continue Chris' journey to recovery.
These things usually take up to 5 years to cycle thru for a tbi patient to become independent. That is our hope for Chris is to be an independent young man.
Thanks to all for prayers and support.
