As you all know our son was born 4 months early at 24 weeks and 2 days. Kairo has had a long journey in the NICU 196 days in the NICU. A lot of ups and downs along the way but this journey has made us so strong as a family. Kairo is such a fighter and remains such a bright soul. Kairo has had a tough journey and many times he’s needed us there at the hospital during these episodes where he was not doing well. We have had to miss work multiple times as any parent would. It is hard leaving your baby especially a preemie alone in the hospital when they’re so critical and fragile. Preemies thrive on having their parents around. As you all know Kairo was recently released home from the NICU on 08/11/2020 unfortunately we had to have him admitted back into the NICU. We experienced a problem with his ventilator which resulted him to not oxygenate well for a critical amount of time causing his carbon dioxide levels to become dangerously high. He is back at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. The reason for this GoFundMe account is during the period of getting ready for Kairo to be able to come home we have had to miss a lot of work. Unfortunately we would not have been able to bring him home If we had not been at the hospital to do all the necessary things for him to come home. Neither of our jobs offer paid medical leave. Therefore putting us in a major financial hardship unable to make our rent and other important household bills. We’re asking for any help possible it would be so greatly appreciated. Normally this is not something I would like to do but these are very trying times for our family. All funds will go to our rent as well as utilities around the home.
