Lorene Nystrom, wife of Randy and mother to Claire and Andrew, was diagnosed with leukemia just before Thanksgiving.  Leukemia is a know potential side of a chemo drug Lorene has been taking as treatment for Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer.  Lorene has been and will continue to undergo chemotherapy along with weekly platelet and blood transfusions, until her body is ready for a bone marrow transplant in the next few months.  After that, Lorene will need daily visits to the U of M and around the clock care and companionship for the next 100 days.  Lorene's activities will be extremely limited. It is unlikely Lorene will return to work in 2020.  Medical and household expenses have started to loom over the Nystrom family.
