Come together for Bob & Laurie ♡
Donation protected
Hello everyone and thank you for taking a moment to open this link and see what it's about. Bob is a 64 years young Navy Veteran, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother and friend diagnosed with stage four melanoma which has advanced to his brain. Bob needs daily radiation therapy to shrink the metastatic cancer/tumors within his brain and only then will he be able to continue immunotherapy for the original diagnosis of melanoma. It is a two hour round trip to his daily radiation treatments from his home in Pennsylvania to Sparta Cancer Center in Sparta, NJ. Bob has been married to his beloved wife and soulmate Laurie since 1998, who is caring for and assisting Bob full time. Laurie is disabled having had 3 major back surgeries herself therefore her physical abilities are limited and full time employment is unattainable. Laurie is transporting Bob to his necessary treatments on a daily basis in a vehicle with a broken radiator on a very limited income. Their combined limited income barely covers their everyday living expenses such as rent/food/electric/gas etc. Thankfully Bob's cancer treatment is covered through resources and benefits for veterans, but the additional expenses of the daily trips and an unexpected but much needed vehicle repair on top of their basic necessities is overwhelming and almost impossible for the two. Typically, they do get by without complaint, but they should not have to choose between falling behind in rent or going without food just so they can ensure Bob is able to make it to his daily treatments. The radiator broke completely disabling the vehicle today and Bob was unable to make his appointment. Please, please help us (their family, friends and loved ones ) by contributing whatever you can to try and alleviate the financial burden on an already stressful, highly emotional and extremely upsetting set of circumstances with seemingly one road block after another. The financial strain should not be one of their main stressors and it certainly should not be their first thought of the day during this difficult time. They should be able to have the basics needed so they can enjoy their precious time together. If you cannot donate please share with someone who might like to pay it forward to an amazing couple that deserves so much more than we can give individually. Thank you so much for taking a moment to read, donate or share if you can.
A little more backstory about this amazing man who needs a helping hand:
Bob Lendenmann is a Navy Veteran who served overseas. He is a father to Charles and Robert, a stepfather to Cheyenne, Kristen and Jenna and a grandfather to many little ones! As someone who grew up alongside his stepdaughter Jenna I got to witness Bob as a husband, a stepfather and what kind of man he is and I can say Bob was the epitome of physical strength/fitness taking great care of his body and great pride in his health. He had an extremely high work ethic and worked full time/OT for the majority of his life. He enjoys being dependable, self sufficient, very hardworking and ambitious. He loves to dote on his beautiful wife Laurie as well as his family. Bob took great pride in caring for his property, garden, lawn and vehicles on his own. Now with these diagnoses taking a toll on his physical being, losing his thumb to infection and the overall strain cancer has put on his body and mind - Bob can no longer personally take care of these things he holds so dear and yet he still doesn't ask others for anything. He still tries to remain self sufficient. Bob and Laurie would split their last dollar to help someone else in need but when it comes to their own hardships - they suffer in silence. Eventually they simply figure it out amongst themselves not wanting to burden their loved ones. They deserve help now when they need it the most and that's why I've chosen to create this campaign on behalf of this amazing adorable duo and their family whom I love so dearly. Please help me to make sure my best friend's stepfather can make it to his radiation treatments, fix their vehicle, pay for gas and not have to prioritize making it to cancer treatments over their basic needs. I am very grateful to everyone that took the time to read this far, donated if you could or shared this campaign. Thank you so much.
