My name is Stacy and I am setting up this site for my best friend and her husband, Brent and Mary Beth Baumann, who are devoted members of our church.
On May 1st, Brent was singing in a fundraising concert at a church in Sioux Falls, SD with his brothers ("The Baumann Brothers" and if you haven't heard them sing, they are awesome!) when he started getting symptoms of intense back/chest pains, blurred vision/flashing lights in his vision and a bad case of the sweats. He was able to pull up a stool to sit on and finish our the last three songs of the concert although he was in a lot of pain. He was brought to the ER at Sanford Hospital just a few blocks away from where the concert was taking place. When admitted to the ER, a cat scan found what looked like an aortic aneurysm. It turned out that it was an aortic dissection from the aortic valve to the kidneys. He had an emergency surgery done, and is doing well as they expect.
Brent is a bus driver in Wabasso for the 4.0 bus service and his wife, Mary Beth, was a child care provider. Funds are needed to assist in paying medical bills as well as assisting with personal expenses while Brent is out of work.
