Fight with Jess
Donation protected
Last year, on March 20th 2019, at the age of 32 Jess was diagnosed with cancer. It is called Cholangiocarcinoma, more commonly known as bile duct cancer. It is a very rare form of cancer, typically only found in people over 70. On April 17th, 2019 she had surgery to remove part of her liver and bilary duct. She then started radiation and chemotherapy and finished both on November 18th, 2019.
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, she started feeling ill again. She had a scan performed which showed "something". On Saturday, August 8th, 2020 she received the devastating news that the cancer was back. The news of this shocked her, her family and friends. The doctors have said that this is an aggressive cancer and that there are a lot of uncertainties. However, she does have a huge team of doctors that are going to be working with her through this fight.
Jessica currently lives in North Carolina with her husband Scott, her step daughter Ruthie (8), son Colton (5) and youngest Hadley (22 months). She has served and continues to serve in the U.S. Coast guard since graduating from highschool in 2004.
She, more than anyone, deserves to live life to the fullest and enjoy many more beautiful days with her family. Although I know asking for help is hard, we on behalf of Jess, are reaching out to everyone asking for any donation, even the smallest amount is helpful. They will have many expenses from hospital bills, to mortgages that will be due, food or the ability to just order out and not have to worry about cooking. We don't know a lot about this cancer, but every little bit will help. And it's not just money, she needs words of encouragement, a thoughtful card or message, but more importantly she needs our prayers!!
So please, on behalf of her 2 best friends myself and Melissa, help our best friend Jess in her fight against cancer.
