Dollars for Dora & Kenny Gerber

Dora was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 34; in Feb 2006 Stage 3 breat cancer; in 2014 returned breast, spine and liver cancers; in August 2015 brain cancer; in September 2015 bone cancer.  There have been multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, seizures, staff infection,  blood transfusions, home health workers, rehab therapists,a nursing home stay of 20 days and  multiple hospitalizations (at least six totaling 63 days, several in ICU and one where the children were called in as she was not expected to survive) , Through it all Dora and Kenny have endured with resolve.
          Presently she is at home, with Kenny providing all of her daily care. Dora is unable to get up, stand or walk on her own.  She is periodically confused, sleeps erratically.  She has lost some of her coordination and motor skills.  She cannot feed herself. Kenny must lift her whenever she needs to be moved.
         The medical bills, trips and special needs have been financially catastrophic.  Additionally, in  August 2015, two weeks after the brain cancer diagnosis, Kenny's position as output services manager in Sedalia was eliminated along with 4 other positions.
      They have borrowed $110,00.00 against their property to help meet expenses (an $8000.00 a year payment).  Because they paid off all debt at the time of the loan, that money is nearly depleted. Monthly bills average $2700.00.  Dora has social security and state retirement income.  Kenny has some income from his  parttime farming/ranching operation.  They go in the hole about $500.00/month.
      They are very grateful to family, friends, their church and the community for the help that has been given (donations, food, personal care, farming help, etc.)  Their need continues to be great....... and on-going.  We hope you can help.
