Dear Friends & Family,
My name is Lauren Dembek, sister(-in-law) of Steve & Tricia Kush.
As you may recall, this past Valentine’s Day we learned some very exciting news. Steve & Tricia were expecting TWINS! A few weeks later we learned even more exciting news... The parents-to-be were expecting a BOY and a GIRL (Baby Stephen and Baby Sadie). Our family was overwhelmed with excitement, and looked forward to meeting the new additions to the family this August!
As Tricia continued through her seemingly normal twin pregnancy, we learned some very upsetting news... At a routine 20-week check-up, the doctors examined the babies’ growth and development. Baby Stephen appeared strong and healthy, with no concerns. But sadly, the doctors discovered some major health complications for Baby Sadie. Tricia is now being treated as a high-risk pregnancy patient and Baby Sadie is fighting for her life.
I am reaching out to you today for two reasons:
1) Please pray for the Kush Family. The coming weeks / months of Tricia's pregnancy is extremely critical. Strength comes from positive thoughts and the faith that God is with us during our most trying times. Please pray for strength and health for Tricia, Steve and their babies.
2) We have decided to establish a GoFundMe.com site in lieu of a baby shower. Under the circumstances with their baby girl, a baby shower would be emotionally very difficult for Tricia and Steve. Instead of traditional shower gifts from their family and friends, we are asking for a financial contribution to help them start their journey into parenthood. It is with heavy heart to share this news. Tricia & Steve continue to take one day at a time, try to maintain a positive attitude, and mentally prepare themselves for the future.
