About a month ago, a close family friend since she first started kicking soccer balls was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 27. If you’ve ever spent just 15 minutes with Carissa Achey, you’ll probably know nothing about her, but she’ll know everything about you, like how your day has been and what you’re up to. She’s one of the most selfless people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Carissa has been part of our family for the last 20 years and I know she was raised and has become extremely independent.  She would never ever ask for any financial help, no matter the circumstance or situation. I know she won’t be approving of this post, but it’s okay, the family has given our family permission to do so. Our family went through and understand the hardships that are burdened on the most affected during the situation, the cancer patient. It’s going to be a long and difficult road that I don’t know if Carissa fully understands, but she’ll fight it with a smile on her face as if nothing is wrong or even acknowledging the cancer existed.  Luckily we live in a country with technology that allows us to help those receiving unexpected medical bills and help with expenses that will be incurred over the next year. Carissa isn’t asking for any financial help, but I’m opening up a goodfundme account for all of her friends and family to show Carissa your SUPPORT.
