Shayla Mulally is a Boston-based flight attendant who has been with American Airlines since 2001 and is a single mother of two children who are 23 and 13.
Shayla went in for a routine doctor's appointment because of her ongoing headaches and loss of vision on February 10, 2016. She was diagnosed and admitted to Mass General two days later and underwent brain surgery on February 12. She was diagnosed with a tumor that wrapped around her optic nerve which was causing her dizziness, distorted eyesight and migraines. Her sole option to save her eyesight was to have surgery. After eight hours of surgery, the doctors successfully removed most of the tumor surrounding the nerve.
She continues to receive follow-up treatments from her neurologist and neuro-ophthalmologist who are contemplating radiation to shrink the leftover tumor around the nerve to improve her eyesight.
Shayla has been unable to work since the surgery and has run out of sick time. To make things worse, she doesn't receive short or long term disability.
We are asking for your donation to help with medical bills, co-pays and hardships that she continually endures and accrues. She is on her way to recovery and hopes to return to work soon.
Any donation will greatly help her. Thank you for reading this and for your generous donation.
