Hello, my name is Ashley Hernandez. I’m a clumsy, kind easygoing gal who loves to sip on coffee or tea and I love Jesus!
The Lord has placed it on my heart to do a Discipleship Training with YWAM. YWAM stands for Youth with a Mission! (http://www.ywam.org/)
The course is a full-time program and lasts five or six months. My focus during this 6-month period will be with worship through music.
I have recently been accepted and will be training at the Ywam Lynden, Washington Base.(http://ywamnorthcascades.com)
My training will begin September 22, 2016 & end March 2, 2017.
This program is broken up into two phases:
Lecture Phase:
The first three months are spent learning, being trained, and building community. In the lecture phase, I will learn more about God and His world.
Outreach Phase:
The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience. I will have the opportunity to be in one of these locations:
--N. Africa, Central Asia, or S.E. Asia
Why Music/Worship DTS?
Music itself is a common language that the whole world shares and can represent and express many emotions!
Through worship we can encounter Jesus’ presence, love and character. It brings a sense of Heaven here on earth. Personally, it’s brought me into a place of inner healing and identity.
Beyond the music is a lifestyle of choosing to live a life that honors God demonstrating the fruits of the spirit in daily life! I’ll be the first to admit I’m not perfect but it’s in my imperfections where God has shown me His love! I want to love extravagantly, be generous in compassion, and to share how we are all wanted & loved!
Prayerfully consider joining me on this adventure of faith by supporting me in prayer and finances! The total cost of the training is $6,500.
Financial Breakdown:
LECTURE FEES
$3,000. School fees cover the cost of tuition, room & board, meals, and transportation.
OUTREACH FEES
The total cost for the Outreach Phase is $2,000 plus the cost of airfare. Ground Fees will cover outreach insurance, in-country expenses, such as housing, food, transportation, as well as ministry and project funds.
DTS Payment Schedule
One month prior to arrival- First $1,000 of lecture fee due - August 22, 2016
Arrival Day- Remaining $2,000 of lecture fee due-September 22, 2016
Week 4- Outreach airfare due: Approx. $1500 -October 20 2016
Week 9- Outreach grounds fees due ($2,000) -Nov 24 2016
