Hello friends, family, and dachshund lovers. We are here asking for help for our sweet boy Remy who has unfortunately been hurt while we were out of town. He was taken to the vet by family and after multiple diagnostics they discovered a fracture in his leg, as well as diagnosed with IVDD (herniated discs) in his spine in 6 different places. In a surprise finding they also found a thin piece of metal in his abdomen which we have no clue where it could've come from since he's not the type to eat things.

The fracture in his back leg will require an orthopedic consult with a specialist, potentially surgery for repair and recheck appointments.

The IVDD will require life long pain management and other treatments as needed like physical therapy and potentially surgery.

The thin metal requires an ultrasound and surgery to remove it.

All treatments will depend on the specialist recommendations and the severity of his injuries once they see him. All of these initial diagnostics came from his primary vet, but unfortunately she does not treat some of these problems.
