We were told that her prognosis was 2 months to 2 years and, at this point, surgery is not a treatment option. This is a prognosis that we do not accept. We believe that Paula will beat this. Paula has 2 adult daughters and 5 grandsons (oldest is 15 and youngest is 5). In addition to myself, her sister, she has my 3 daughters that she has been very close to their whole lives. Our mother is still with us and Paula has lived with her the past few years and helped her out. In addition to the stress of having cancer, she does not need the stress of bills adding up. Any little bit would be helpful and greatly appreciated. We are so thankful that she will have medicaid to assist in much of the cost of treatment.
This is not an issue that we thought we would ever have to deal with. There is no history of breast cancer in our family and we naively thought that we were safe. Cancer is not in our family. This has come as a devastating blow to our whole family, as I'm sure this diagnosis is to every family. Any money received here will be used to offset the costs of treatment that Paula's medicaid has not covered and will assist in her day to day living expenses as she will be unable to work during her treatment. I do not have the words to express our gratitude for any help that is offered, whether that be in the form of funds raised here, the sharing of this page, prayers, positive thoughts, and warm wishes. All positive energy can be turned into fuel for her fight, a fight that she can and will win!! From Paula and her whole family, Thank you!!!
