I like to think that we didn't adopt Podrick, he adopted us. Although we didn't want another cat, we knew Podrick needed us. He has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia; basically his cerebellum was not fully developed when he was born, so he does not have good balance. He was very afraid of life at the adoption center, and kept getting overlooked because of his condition; so he became part of our family. He doesn't know he is any different from the other animals, and this has made us love him more.
As some of you know, last week Podrick was limping and not wanting to do much of anything. X-rays showed hip dysplasia, but after a visit with an orthopedic vet, we learned his knee was the real problem. His kneecap pops out of place causing him pain and inability to walk. The vet said with time it could continue to grow worse as his ligaments stretch and the cartilage rubs together, thus recommending surgery to fix it.
We want the best for him, but do not have the money for othropedic surgery, so we are asking for help. Please consider donating so we can get him fixed up. We are hoping to get enough for the deposit to get him scheduled next week. Any small amount helps and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
