Jatayu das, or Jim Brown, a disciple of Bhakti Marg Swami, pictured on the left, is a staunch brahmana who has been serving in the Cleveland Yatra since Prabhupada was on the planet. His mood has always been to serve Krishna and the devotees without fail. He single-handedly organized the Oberlin College preaching program and Ratha Yatras, stepped up to take over the preaching in the Copley area, and has always been active in Cleveland's bhakti-vrksa program. He has always lovingly served the devotees with his wife Renee by hosting programs, cooking prasadam, supporting the devotees in their time of need, and being the first one to volunteer for projects. At this time, he needs us.
A few months ago, his wife Renee was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not long after she completed her radiation treatment, Jatayu Prabhu also suddenly fell ill. What began as vertigo later progressed into a serious, sudden illness. He is now hospitalized with what doctors believe to be small cell lung cancer, as well as hyponatremia. He also has a large tumor on the back of his lung that is attached to his vertebrae. His condition is serious and he is bed ridden. Renee spends her days driving back and forth from home to the hospital, which is a 45 minute commute one way.
As both devotees struggle with illness, neither are able maintain employment. They also have a farm with many animals that need care. Please donate to help cover daily living, gas, animal care, and medical expenses.
