Connor/Farnen Memorial Highway Sign

Donation protected
My name is Chuck Basye. I am a Missouri sate representative from Central Missouri.  I sponsored legislation to have memorial highway signs honoring two of our Boone County, Missouri military heroes killed in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm. These signs need to be paid for from private donations.

On behalf of the families of these brave men, please consider a donation of $10.00, $25.00, $50.00, $100.00 or any amount.  It has been 25 years since these heroes paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  These signs will be an eternal tribute to their sacrifice for our liberty and freedom and will be truly appreciated by their families and friends who loved them!!

House Bill 1958/Senate Bill 915 designates the portion of U.S. Highway 63 in Boone County Missouri from Breedlove Drive to Peabody Road in Boone County as "U.S. Army Specialist Steven Paul Farnen Memorial Highway."

HB1958/SB915 also designates the portion of U.S. Highway 63 from the interchange with Discovery Parkway to Interstate 70 in Boone County, Missouri as "U.S. Navy Lieutenant Patrick Kelly Conner Memorial Highway."

During Operation Desert Storm Lt. Patrick Kelly Connor was a Bombardier/Navigator on a US Navy A6 Intruder. The airplane went missing on Feb. 2, 1991. The military never found the aircraft, but recovered Lt. Connor’s body on Mar. 31, 1991.
Lt. Connor grew up in Columbia, Missouri and graduated from Hickman High School. One of his closest friends was former state rep. Jeff Harris, now an Assoc. Circuit Judge in Boone County. Lt. Connor is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Specialist Steven Paul Farnen was serving in the U. S. Army in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. He was killed on Feb. 25, 1991 when the barracks that he resided in were struck by a Scud missile.
Spec. Farnen grew up in Northeastern Boone County, graduating from Salisbury High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army.  He is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salisbury, MO.

On behalf of the Connor and Farnen families, thank you so very much for your generous contribution.
