Hello, My name is Mike Fatcat Evans and I’m a member of a local riding club. It’s hard to be on this side of the fence since I’m usually one of the guys helping others in need. I’m reaching out to you because me and my family have fallen on hard times. I’m a type 2 diabetic and over the past few years my health has really gone down hill and taken a toll on me and my family. I’ve had my big toe amputated on my left foot a couple years ago. With that recovery I did hyperbaric chamber therapy to help with the healing process and it only caused blood vessels in my eyes to burst. Which then led to me having a vitrectomy done to both eyes, and extended time off to heal. Once the eyes recovered, I had to have cataracts surgery done on both eyes and lost peripheral vision in my left eye. I had just recovered enough to return to work when I burnt the bottom of my good foot, walking on the asphalt. The burn began to heal when a diabetic sore caused infection between two toes. Infection only worsened and I was hospitalized and had two toes removed, but after medication and care infection only worsened. They removed half of my foot. My wife cared for me at home and we tried our best to avoid leg amputation but after discussion with the doctors it was inevitable. My leg amputation was done in October 23 2019 and it’s been one hell of a ride ever since. My short-term disability expired December 31, 2019 so now my wife’s pay check is all we have to live on at this time and it’s not enough to make ends meet. We exhausted all of our savings and 401K funds and savings. I have applied and been denied disability benefits twice but am currently waiting for the appeal process date in court. We’ve reached the point where we are out of options and need help. I’m asking for any help you can possibly offer.  God bless you and I thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support.
