Yolanda's Survival Fun(ds)

Hello Friends!! Yolanda (She/Her) is a Queer 2 Spirit Ojibwe/South Asian performer, playwright and poet from Fort William First Nation in Thunder Bay, ON.  Now based in Tkarón:to. With COVID postponing or cancelling thousands of dollars of her income, and the trauma of owing taxes to the government as an Indigenous person, and then having a pipe burst over her bed and bedroom and forcing a relocation asap, Yolanda needs our support. She is a leader and a force in this community and she has held space and uplifted so many others, and now it's her turn. She has provided constant enlightenment, education, power, and joy through her artwork, writing, and her socials. Let's make this transition as smooth as possible for her. She deserves a safe space to live and work and to be free of financial burden so she can get back to doing her vital work that benefits us all. So, $18000 is being requested to help cover the cost of her federal taxes, a new mattress/box spring/bedding, movers and a truck, and rent for both places. Anything you contribute will be received with the most gratitude and humility. And who knows, maybe when things get settled, Yolanda's vampire stripper alter ego Sita Moon may make some appearances just for you.
