Hello friends and family. As many of you know, my mom took a bad fall down some stairs and is in pretty bad shape at OHSU. It’s been 4 weeks today and she is still unresponsive after multiple surgeries. She has had the side of her skull removed due to the swelling of her brain, and is being treated for a fractured spine. She’s also developed pneumonia and meningitis which has caused an elevated white blood cell count and took her recovery process in the wrong direction. We’ve been at the hospital every day with her hoping for miracles. We can’t really afford this time off work but the doctors tell us that being there and her hearing our voices is very important to her recovering so that’s priority. She was supposed to be in Las Vegas right now with her Pool/billiards team playing in the APA World Championships. Yeah, she’s damn good at Pool! Aside from being a great pool player she’s also a great friend to many, a terrific mother/sister/aunt, as well as a loving wife to my Pops. If you know me well then you know that I’ve never been one to ask for much but our family is going to need all the help we can get. She’s ALWAYS been there for me and anyone else that’s needed her so I’m trying to do anything I can. She has medical insurance but that’s only going to go so far. This is going to be a long hard road for her and the family. It’s pretty likely that she will need extensive professional care even when she gets out of the hospital. Many of you know my dad and know that he is just about the nicest and most giving person around and he’s going to need some help (which he would never ask for so we’re doing it for him). If you can help at all it would be GREATLY appreciated! Please keep her in your thoughts as she fights through this difficult journey. We’re not taking a lot of calls or returning too many messages right now as there is just so much going on. But please know that we are extremely grateful to all of you that have been reaching out, bringing us dinners and helping in so many other ways ❤️. We have an amazing family and the best friends one could ask for. Thank you!!
