Hello Family and Friends,
Most of you know me. My name is Janice Chico, I have 3 wonderful sisters, Jeannette Chico, Carol Ann Erdly and Raquel Chico. 2 Amazing parents, Candelario and Carmen Chico.
In early May 1978 my parents received a call from Edwin Gould Adoption Agency asking if they would be able to temporarily care for a baby girl, Carol A. Suter born on May 5, 1978 that needed immediate placement until a permanent family became available. At the same time a baby boy, John Suter who had been born a few days earlier on May 1, 1978 was also placed in a temporary home. Unable to place both children in the same home, John Suter and Carol Suter were separated. Their moms were twins, Karen Suter was Carols mom, and her sister Carol Suter was John's mom. Both girls apparently had become pregnant at about the same time from the same man. It is all a lot of personal information, a sad story, but these 2 girls had probably endured a very difficult childhood that ended with them in a tangled web that none of them would be able to escape. Their decision to give up these two babies was a decision made out of love.
A couple, The Santerre's adopted John. We did not have much information on his adoption at the time and my parents Candelario and Carmen Chico adopted our most beautiful sister Carol Ann Erdly in 1979. It was a decision that each adopted family made from the heart and for all of us it was love at first site. Carol grew up in a loving home and we all had the same priviledges, however; for Carol the desire to learn about her past consumed her and created a void that no one could fill. She lived with the constant reminder that she would never be able to meet her biological mom because she had passed away when Carol was just a baby. We later found out that both sisters Karen and Carol Suter had passed away. With no other connection except a possible half brother/cousin, Carol began asking questions and feeling the need to know more about her past.
In 2010 my mom reached out to Find My Family (Adoption Record # 14956) and wrote a story about Carol and John Suter and their moms. For years and years we hit dead ends. No connection, no results, no family. Then on May 2, 2016 as I was working online, I began receiving messages from an unknown person on Facebook by the name of Tanya J. Walker. She immediately began to interview me and I was so confused. I was hesitant because she was giving me information that was personal and private. No one should know the details that she spoke of but we soon realized that she had successfully reached the sister of the Carol Suter that she was in search of.
The rest of the story is one to be told and we have learned that there is still a younger sibling that is yet to be found, but that is why I am here.
I need help reuniting these 2 siblings. My sister Jeannette Chico paid for Carol and her son Tyler and my parents to fly to NY for the reunion but we are still in need to raise enough money so that Carol's husband and her other 3 children can be there as well. We really need the help and support of anyone who can help. Please consider any donation. If everyone donated a few dollars we could reach our goal in no time.
