Help Layla's Recovery
Donation protected

Last week while Keith and I were on our honeymoon we got one of the worst phone calls we could have received.
Layla had an accident and was badly attacked by another dog. We changed our flight and got on the next one back home.
She had to receive immediate vetinary care and then was transferred to BluePearl where she has been receiving around the clock care since. Though she has been making steady progress in her recovery she's still in really rough shape and we are not out of the woods yet.
She had surgery on Friday morning to examine damage to her wounds beyond the surface, and has received several stitches and 5 drains to help drain all the fluid. She is still heavily sedated on pain killers.
She's starting to stand and walk a little, and could even pee on her own today but still won't take food. There's still a risk of infection and other complications. The damage to her left front leg is still unknown and until we see how it heals and if there is any neurological damage there's a chance it may need to be amputated.
My biggest goal is to not rush her from vetinary care too early due to expenses. The first two days alone were over $5,000 and it's been a steady $1-2k a day since to cover round the clock care, monitoring and pain management.
I love her so much and it kills me to see her in pain. I just want to see her make the best recovery she can so we can get that pup back to chasing squirrels and being the ridiculous pup we all love.
I appreciate all of your help so much. Thank you for keeping Layla in your thoughts.
