Funeral arrangements for Mike Hathorn
Donation protected
As many of you know Travis, Melissa, and Martee’s dad, Mike Hathorn has been sick a long time.
In April 2016 Mike arrived at the ER to find he only had 15% of his blood left in his body. After 7 blood transfusions and many test he was diagnosed with stage 3C colorectal cancer. After 2 years of Chemotherapy he went into complete remission, something his doctor said would never happen!
On April 19,2019, Mikes cancer returned. He began more chemotherapy and fought through the sickness. He fought hard but began to become immune to treatments.
On Thursday July 16,2020, Mike was told the devastating news he has another tumor. This time it is in his abdomen pressing on his spine and bladder and is wrapped around his vertebrae causing paralysis. He must now have a catheter and the cancer has spread significantly. It’s spread to his spine, sacrum, pelvic, lung and most likely brain. Treatment plans are unlikely to work and Mike has been in significant pain.
Doctors told him he didn’t have much time. Mike made the decision to be with his children during his last part of his life and to stay comfortable.
On July 22,2020 Grace Hospice was called to help. Travis, Melissa, and Martee have been by his side doing everything they can to keep him comfortable. They are heartbroken. This news was a shock and he is weakening day by day. On July 28, 2020 he was put on oxygen since his levels were so low.
They are beginning to make funeral arrangements which is difficult. Mike did not have life insurance and was unable to work for a few years.
He already has the burial site so donations would help with the services. If you find that you are able to help it would be much appreciated.
Thank you for all the love and support you have given them during this time.
Please share some of your favorite memories in the comments. They would love to read them.
