Expect the best, plan for the worst, and prepare to be surprised… one might say. It pays to plan ahead, I totally agree, but foreseeing life’s troubles simply sneaks up on you and you’re left feeling hopeless and uncertain. At least that’s how you feel at the moment, but it’s far from the case. We have those to lean on. Asking for help should not cost a thing just a desire to help someone you know is in need. So here I go…
I write this in thought of Eric, his family, and friends because all are truly affected. Eric has been struck by a plague of unforeseen circumstances starting with and following a 2013 automobile accident. Immediate injuries occurred and have led to a roller coaster of events. He has endured two cervical spine surgeries, one in March 2015 and the other in October 2015. The passing of his dear mother this past March with a yearlong battle of small cell lung cancer, in few words, is certainly life changing.
Most recently Eric has been confronted with the diagnosis of stage II oral squamous cell carcinoma (Tongue Cancer) – a cancer sited on his tongue. What the fudge, right?!
When someone is struggling to overcome a challenge, stress quickly becomes overwhelming, to say the least. I’ve witnessed Eric in the midst of this emotional, physical, and financial crisis and I’m devastated to see him go through yet another crisis. Many of you have reached out in an effort to provide comfort and support during at least one of these challenging times and I thank you for continued support, thoughts, and prayers through all.
The dilemmas of Eric’s setbacks has directly impacted his established general contracting business by liquidating assets and relieving employees to the point of closing the business until further notice. The unexpected costs and monetary hardships he is dealing with have become unendurable. Eric is drowning in medical and living expenses. He is delinquent on current bills, monthly housing costs, vehicular payments, and now skyrocketing medical charges.
Eric was always energetic, athletic, generous, and extremely thoughtful. We want him back! He’s provided years of donations and sponsorships to men’s softball teams and related events. But now there is a limit of what he can do – a fact he accepts with humility. On behalf of Eric, today, I make good use of my time by asking for your help. We are a part of a greater community with gifted people in a variety of areas. Any and all contributions are immeasurably respected.
Two words of sincere gratitude – THANK YOU.
Sincerely,
The Fight for “E” Team
