2016 Team Virginia Greco/Freestyle Sponsor Sheet
My name is Tre’von Majette. I have recently qualified to wrestle for the 2016 Virginia National Wrestling Team at two separate events. These events are competitions in the Olympic Styles of Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. I will be traveling to Fargo, North Dakota on July 18-25 to wrestle for the Virginia National Team at theASICS/VAUGHAN Junior & Cadet Wrestling Championships against wrestlers from all 50 states. This is the largest and prestigious wrestling tournaments in the world.
This year I entered the 11th grade at Oscar Smith High in Chesapeake, VA. I will finish my third year there with a 3.0 grade point average. I also competed as a varsity wrestler starting at 120lbs. The season was both challenging and rewarding. I was presented the Outstanding Wrestler Award during the 2016 Hampton Duals. I finished 1st at the VHSL Monitor Merrimac Conference, 1st at the VHSL regional tournament and 3th at the VHSL state championship. I am ranked 1st in my weight class by the Virginia Pilot Newspaper. I also earned All-American Honors taking 3rd place in Junior National Tournament. I have recently won both Virginia Greco-Roman & Freestyle State Championships .
Wrestling has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. Through these experiences I’ve learned discipline, self-motivation, commitment and the reward of sacrifice and hard work. My ultimate goal is to wrestle in college and go to the Olympics for wrestling. The experience on the Virginia National Team will help to achieve these goals.
Today I would like to ask for your support towards my cost of representing Virginia at these events. The cost to compete on the VA National Team is $1,800.00. This cost covers my travel, lodging, meals, equipment package and VA National Team Training Camp expenses. I hope to raise these funds on or before June 7, 2015. All donations are tax deductible and upon receiving a donation I will issue a receipt to you for your financial records. In these demanding economic times, I can assure you that any and all donations are greatly appreciated. I will do my best to represent you and the state of Virginia with my efforts at the National Wrestling Tournament.
