Medical Fund for the Toledo Family
The beautiful smiling face you see in this picture is of 4 year old Soleil Toledo. Soleil is the oldest child of one of my co-workers, Jameson Toledo and she has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Together as a family, James, his wife May, who is pregnant, younger child Mason and Soleil face a challenging road ahead.
On April 12th, Soleil and her brother Mason were enjoying a day together with their parents when Soleil, who had been experiencing headaches began to show signs of poor coordination. What seemed like a routine visit to the family doctor turned out to be every parents worst nightmare; that evening Soleil was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was admitted to the Seattle Children's Hospital Pediatric ICU. The next day the tumor was removed from Soleil's brain with surgery, but just a few days later, the family received another blow with news that the tumor was cancer. Soleil is still in the ICU recovering from surgery and will begin chemotherapy and radiation in the upcomming weeks. The Toledo family has a daunting battle ahead of them and will not march up that road alone. They are confident that Soleil will beat this cancer and are aware that all of us are standing beside them.
Many of James's and May's co-workers and friends have reached out to me and asked me how they can help this incredible family. The reality is that the family will be faced with an uncertain future and a huge financial burden that will include: Medical expenses, travel expenses, food, caregivers for their youngest child and the list goes on and on. Your support will assist James and May focus on the most important thing right now and that is a full and speedy recovery for Soleil.
Most importantly, please continue your prayers and unwavering support for Soleil.
Thank you all for your support.
