So, I was diagnosed with cancer not very long ago. By the time they/I caught it, it had become a great concern of the doctors to start me on chemo right away as they feared it moving to my brain any day. I should have mentioned that it is testicular cancer, but it has moved, grown, upwards. Meaning it has gone from the testicles to the stomach, and then up so it is surrounding my kidneys, and from there it jumped to my lungs where it has stayed forthe time being. Needless to say it did not grow that far overnight. I did spend months in a significant amount of pain; at the time I was sure it was a hernia. Eventually, I was unable to do much more than sit. I normally work as a Diesel Mechanic, working on tractor trailers, which is a very physical job and as such my employer told me that they could not pay me to sit all day and so for my own health they insisted that i see a doctor before I came back to work. This act by my employer saved my life, for had I taken the aleve (that I found out the next day relieved all the pain) before seeing the doctor I very likely would have continued work unaware of the time bomb ticking away inside of me. So, why am I asking for your money? Well, I cannot work while receving the chemo treatments because even when I am not in pain, I am too weak to walk more 2 blocks before needing a break, or the chemo drugs have my brain not thinking clearly. I have applied for state disability benefits, but a while back I had broken my legs and had to go on disability for a few months. However, the disability people did not pay out my disability claim until one week before I returned to work. Suffice it to say, I have little confidence in receiving any disability payments in a time frame that would be helpful. Since I cannot work, and the state is taking it's time, I thought I might throw myself at the mercy of good people capable of performing random acts of kindness. I ask for the money because my bills have begun to pile up and I fear the repossession of my transportation, as well as the turning off of utilities and I have not heard from the landlord yet, but I'm sure that can't be too far away. I only ask for a donation from those of you who truly have a disposable income; this is because I work for a living (normally anyways) and so I understand what is involved in earning your paycheck. So, please if you don't have it to spare then keep it, because you earned it. However, if you are one of the lucky ones and you do have some extra, I would be greatly appreciative of any help. Thank you for taking the time to read my "story" and I apologise for asking for sympathy, I would not do it if it were not a desperate situation. Again, thank you for your time.
