In Loving Memory of Armani Hamilton

Hello all,
We as a community are fundraising on behalf of the family of Armani Hamilton. Armani was shot and killed on July 22nd of this year. The details of his shooting remain mostly unknown at this time; however, what we do know is that he was killed close to home while he was going to the store to get cups and ice for his family.
Armani graduated from Bushwick Community High School, a school for transformation, in June of 2019. Armani is remembered fondly by his teachers as being kind, funny, calm-spirited and early to everything. To name an example, he was early to his first period of the day every day, even remarking to his teacher that they were late having missed the bell on the way to class. Upon graduating, Armani was voted by his teachers and staff to be the recipient of the “Transformation Award,” an award that is given to a graduating senior who exemplifies the motto of BCHS - that we are a school for transformation and change. Armani was given this award because he came to BCHS from another school where he was not successful, yet through his hard work and willingness to face challenges he succeeded at BCHS.
Armani’s growth at BCHS remains one of the most notable instances of resilience in my years of education. As a student faced with academic and personal hardship, Armani dedicated himself completely to his studies and self-betterment to graduate, prepare for his future, and make his family proud. His receipt of 5 nominations for student of the month in his final term and BCHS’ transformation award does not come close to capturing the dedication and passion Armani brought to his life.
Armani is a prime example of someone who changed his life for the better. As such, it is with a heavy heart that we relay the news of his passing. All money raised will be passed directly onto his family so that they can cover any costs associated with his memorial and funeral. No family should have to deal with this, especially during such a trying time in America. Please give what you can and remember Armani fondly while keeping his family in your thoughts.
