My name is Ishmael Dodoo a resident of Fort Lee, New Jersey. I am a UN official working in the Office of the Assistant Secretary General and Director of UNDP Africa.
On the 22nd of February 2016 at 10:17pm at Kwashieman a suburb of Accra in Ghana, Suleyman Yuguda a Nigerian tenant who resided in the house of my uncle Mr. Robert Dodoo attacked him and my cousin Andy with a 15 liter paint bucket of acid.
He rushed into the house with a paint bucket full of acid and headed towards my 71 yr uncle. 16yr old Andy suspecting that Suleyman was heading in his father’s direction quickly ran to stand in Suleyman’s path unaware of the substance in the bucket. Suleyman once impeded by Andy poured half of the substance on Andy from his lower right neck the entire right-side of his chest to his torso and parts of his leg. He quickly threw the remaining corrosive substance on my uncle's face and neck. Suleyman threw the bucket away and ran out of the house and has not been found until now.
Robert & Andy Dodoo have been admitted at the Korle Bu teaching hospital at the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Center. Robert Dodoo has gone through surgery on his left face and neck and it has been successful but both arms are still healing from severe corrosive burns.
Andy has recieved medical treatment for over 10 weeks however according the doctor in charge he is not yet stable; he's on ground state. The skin on the left side of his body has peeled off except for his legs and private area and the muscles in his right arms are damaged. Andy is currently eating regularly, however he requires constant blood transfusion, antibotics, and wounds dressing every two days.
Andy's burns is medically termed as full thickness which means both layers of skin – (epidermis and dermis) are destroyed and has penetrated more deeply into underlying structures.
He will require major skin grafting which at the second phase of his medical care.
The Dodoo family has spent up to $11,000 in the last 10 weeks and as a personal guardian of Andy since his mother died I am very much commited to helping raise funds to save the life of my 16 year old cousin.
Andy Dodoo is currently at ground state and we want to raise him to level ground before any surgery can be considered. This is an APPEAL FOR FUNDS to anyone who can help with anything no matter how small to help Andy Dodoo heal from his wounds . God bless.
