Help with Vet Bills
My best friend Keesha's beloved cat Charles was shot in the stomach with a crossbow today. He's currently at the vet's office, staying overnight with a surgery scheduled to make sure the arrow didn't puncture any organs. Charles has been her rock for many years now and I know he means the world to her. We are praying for no internal damage and for a speedy recovery.
Unfortunately, she has had some pretty bad luck with vet visits lately - she's had 5 emergency vet visits in the past 3 months due to various things her pets have gotten into or discovered (a fight with another cat, a bleeding mass on a spleen, cheatgrass in an eye, and another that I don't remember).
She is a wonderful pet mom and takes such good care of her animals; however, she is also a college student with a full-time job and I know these visits were not something she had expected - aka these expenses are adding up quickly.
She's incredible at budgeting and managing her money, but sometimes things happen that you can't control or plan for. Any help that I can get her will go towards her vet bills so that she doesn't have to worry about being in debt or paying them off for a long time.
I have no idea how much all of these vet bills will cost (just that vet care - normal and emergency - is expensive), so I put a rough estimate of $10,000. If it ends up being different, I'll adjust the goal as needed. Any leftover money will go into a vet fund so that she has backup in case there's another unexpected vet visit!
