This is one of the hardest and personally difficult posts that I will ever make for so many reasons. Mainly, because someone that I love so much is hurting so much.
My little sister, Aubrey, has been dealt some lousy health cards over the past two years. It started when she tore her labrum after a fall when she was hiking which resulted in surgery which wasn’t successful due to unknown underlying conditions at the time.
- TOS- Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
- EDS- Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
- POTS- Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
All of these underlying conditions, led to a stroke during her pregnancy and have severely impacted her ability to perform everyday activities and care for my beautiful niece, Amelie. She recently flew to Dallas for TOS surgery where they removed her upper rib, pectoral muscle, and scalene muscles in her neck. The recovery for this surgery varies from 12-18 months and many times requires additional surgeries.
She is unable to work during her recovery and has Amalie, my sweet eight-month old niece that she also has to support as well. Medical bills, rent, diapers, daycare, physical therapy, and basic needs have been accumulating and every dollar goes a long way. I wanted to start this gofund me as a way to help relieve some of the financial stress for Aubrey and her young family while she recovers.
