Hello!! My name is Omar Bermejo, and I am a paratriathlete trying to make the US developmental team this August at Paratriathlon Nationals in Santa Cruz, California.
My arm was amputated in 2008 after 10 years of military service in the United States Marine Corps.
In the Military I learned to work hard for the things I want and need, and ever since the amputation of my arm I have dedicated my life to disabled sports and empowering my life to get past the the obstacles life has put in front of me.
I have been training like a mad man in the sport of triathlon for about two years, and I have been improving in each race that I have been since then!! The US paratriathlon coaches have seen my growing potential and have invited me to compete in the last race of the season in which a spot for the US paratriathlon developmental team is for grabs and my sights are set for it.
I am trying to raise $5,000 to afford the equipment and travel needed to get to paratriathlon Nationals. I need the funds by the end of July but I know with the help of all of you I can raise it much sooner!!
Each donation as small or big as it could be will literally give me the motivation and push to be the fastest I could ever be, and as I race at the biggest stage of my paratriathlon career I will remember each and everyone that has help me get there, and for that I THANK YOU very much.
