So we received some heartbreaking news about our Ruby. She's been exhibiting some odd behavior so I've been back and forth the last month and a half with the vet trying to figure out what could be wrong. Thoughts were she ingested something toxic so she was being treated accordingly. Well the last blood test confirmed our baby girl has liver shunt. She paces all day in a haze drooling and hugging the walls. She gets aggressive with the other dogs. She get listless and confused then sleeps the whole very next day. She wakes up a perfectly normal and happy dog only to fall into this heartbreaking pattern come the evening when the toxins from the intestines are at their highest. Yorkies are the #1 affected breed for this. Vet is recommending surgery to correct. I'm finding the cost to be pretty expensive. Searching around now to see what our options are. Please keep my beautiful little baby in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully we can find an affordable surgeon who can get our little girl the comfort and telief she so desperately needs.
