The sudden shuttering of bars and restaurants across the city was a necessary step in social distancing to help us all get through this difficult time. Unfortunately, that means our entire Drifter team lost their jobs over one weekend.
The Drifter is made possible by so many hard-working service industry professionals, talented artists and amazing guests like you, who are now left to shake their collective drinks and tail feathers at home.
We love our quirky team of bartenders, servers, hosts, barbacks, cooks, burlesque dancers, jugglers, contortionists, musicians, singers, comedians, magicians, acrobats, sword swallowers, hula hoopers, vaudeville and sideshow performers. So we're asking for virtual tips to help get these plucky individuals through this tough time and back behind the bar and on stage for you.
100% of donations will go directly to The Drifter staff and performers, and in lieu of a massive bear hug, we will be putting together a virtual quarantine care package of goodies, as well as a thank you card that will get you priority seating at our little speakeasy once we're back.
The Drifter ghosts Harriet and Ulysses Cumberwaithe are keeping an eye on the place for us and can't wait to see you again soon.
