Compassionate Ministries of Jackson County invites you to join us on our journey as we take our next step in expanding our capacity.  We are embarking on a Capital Campaign to raise $263,000 for the Phase II development of our Compassionate Ministries Center, the principal home of David's Promise.  The Weatherwax Foundation of Jackson, MI has graciously committed to a $131,500 matching grant for CMJC to help us realize our vision of the renovation and repurposing of the upper level of the Center.  Our mission is to raise the first $131,500 by February 1, 2017 to make this dream a reality.

David’s Promise is a CMJC ministry dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with special needs and their families and currently provides weekday programming in the garden level of the CM Center. Current weekday programming affords adults with special needs an opportunity to come and make friends, use their gifts and talents and contribute to our community in meaningful ways at no cost to the families. In addition, David's Promise offers Parent and Family Support Groups and provides in-hospital visits to young families who are learning about new diagnoses and navigating life in the special needs community.

With your help, we will expand this ministry while at the same time creating a resource center for those benefitting from the outreach and basic needs support of all CMJC ministries. The Phase II development entails a much needed structural enhancement to the facility as well as usuable space development.  As a resource center, CMJC will be able to give individuals and families access to information and a place to meet and share successes and challenges with others in similar situations.  The center will be a place for education sharing with those most vulnerable and will be a place to educate care providers and health care professionals to help them deal with the unique and specific needs of those looking to CMJC for support.  Flexible space is also being planned to allow for a community meeting place for coffee and conversation and even a market place where adults with special needs in our community can showcase their talents and even apply their skills as dedicated employees.
