For those of you that may not know me or my story, here it is....
I currently live in NH and have been back in the US now for 3 years. My father lives here and my amazing mom lives in Montreal, Quebec. March 2015 my mom and I, as well as her family were stunned with the news that she had Pancreatic Cancer. This cancer is devastating to say the least. Sadly there is no cure and it is taking victims at an alarming rate. June 2015 she was operated on. The removed the max amount allowed which is 60% of her pancreas, as well as her entire spleen. This, however, left her with a hernia in her stomach and where the tube was placed never seemed to fully heal. She is now forced to wear a brace on a daily basis.
After surgery she was told that she was cancer free but they suggested 6 months of preventative chemo. This past February was her last treatment for that round of chemo and she was told everything seemed ok. After more tests and scans they said that they do not believe the cancer is completely gone. 3 days before my 36th birthday, March 19th, my mom called me with some crushingly devastating news. The cancer is back and there is not much we can do but try to contain it. She is now on another round of chemo in the form of pills, which has had a much worse effect on her than when it was intravenously. We are literally trying everything we can to not only contain it but to allow her to have a quality of life for however long that may be. More tests are being done as we go along. Alternative medicines are being seeked out.
This is where you guys come in... due to the cancer and being forced into early retirement, her private health insurance ran out May 1st. I would like to raise as much as I can to help with any future expenses she may have. Whether that be alternative medicine or for the proper care she will eventually need at home.
Any donation is so greatly appreciated. From my mom and I, may God bless you all!
