Hi, my name is Master Karen Conover. I am in the unique position to know a lot of people in the Verde Valley and I'm asking for your help. At KC's Family Tae Kwon Do we bond like family, we laugh like family, we grieve like family and we rally like family. One of our own needs help.
This very incredible young family, The Holdsworths, lost their home to fire just this morning. They are a young family just trying to make it on their own with 3 kids under the age of 3. I know them because the Dad -- David - is a black belt and volunteer Instructor at our martial arts school. Their youngest daughter faces mounting medical bills due to a heart condition, and now they've lost any assemblance of their normalcy outside of doctors and hospital visits -- their house and their happy place. The boys are total charmers and their mom is an ace at wrangling them and making them all feel special.
There was very little that was salvageable from the fire so they are facing starting over. There are many wonderful groups helping them with "stuff"-- food, clothing and immediate shelter. But one thing that is overwhelming is the thought of where to put the stuff that everyone so generously is starting to offer. First and last month's rent, security deposits, utility deposits would take them many months to save and cover. I spoke to David earlier today and you can only imagine the insurmountable grief he sees in front of him to provide this for his family. I'd like to lift this burden for him and have the cash sitting here ready to go as soon as possible, so we can get them into a new place and there is one less thing to worry about. This cash would go directly towards getting them relocated and moved in.
Can you please help?
