Support the Family of Kevin O'Neill

What happened: Thursday afternoon, 7/16/20, my dad unexpectedly died from heart complications at the young age of 55 and it took us all by surprise. About Kevin: My dad, Kevin David O’Neill, was born on January 2, 1965 in Milwaukee as the youngest of three children.  He grew up and attended Holy Cross, Marquette High School and Pius High School and graduated from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  He started dating his wife, Terry Lorenz, in 1985 and he enjoyed 35 years of loving companionship and was a generous and loving father to me and my two younger brothers, Louis and Curtis.  He was hardworking and built his career in industrial sales, working for Ryerson Steel and Sjoberg Tool & Manufacturing Corporation among others.  He was a caring son to my grandma, Helene O’Neill, helping her weekly until she passed away in 2017. My dad grew up having tons of friends and loved sharing his childhood stories. His favorite memory he’d tell me about was jumping off the roof of my grandma’s house into their backyard pool.  Throughout his life he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone who needed it, including myself. (I still don’t know how to change a tire on my car because I always called my dad and he’d show up wherever I was.) Why a GoFundMe? Over the past 4 months, he was unemployed, and our family’s financial challenges were mounting. Covid-19 also impacted my mom’s employment and the two of them were and have been struggling to pay bills. Now, with his passing, my mom is facing tremendous expenses on her own.  Though my brothers and I are helping how we can, our financial resources are very limited and we are worried about her household expenses along with the expenses associated with his passing. This is an incredibly hard time for us and the last thing I want is for my mom to be stressed from finances. I want her to be able to focus her energy on grieving, spending time with family, and finding a new inner peace with her new reality without my dad. We have countless family and friends who loved my dad, my mom, and their relationship. So many people have reached out asking if they can help and we have a fridge full to the brim already one day after everything had happened, and for that, I am so grateful. I am setting up this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of her stress so that money isn’t the primary thing she has to worry about right now until we have the mental energy to figure where we go from here.  Anyone who knows or has met my mom knows she is the most giving, selfless, loving, positive person and she means the world to my family.
