On July 17th Doug McElroy passed away suddenly of a cardiac arrest. He was 40 years old. He left behind his loving wife of 8 years, Susan, and two dogs, Anna and River who he loved dearly. Doug was passionate about law enforcement. Throughout his life he worked in several areas of law enforcement, most recently as a security guard for Riverview Health. He previously worked for Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and IU Police Department. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving “Uncle Bubba” to four nephews “Uncle Ducky” to his only niece and youngest nephew. Susan is now faced with not only mourning the sudden loss of her husband, but unexpected funeral expenses, and faced with adjusting from two incomes down to one.
