Hi everyone, most of you know me but some of you may not. My name is Christina and I am her only child. You all who have known my family over the years would know that we would never ask this if it was not in dire need. She doesn’t have any other family except for her husband Lee and hospital bills are piling up faster that we can keep track of. On Wednesday, June 17th she woke up dizzy and weak and barely able to hold herself up so Lee took her to the hospital. Well a normal blood level is between 12-15 and hers when she went in was a 2.4. Doctors start transfusing at an 8. They said they had no idea how she was still alive. They got her blood levels back up (after 3 days of solid transfusions) and there was no bleeding so they let her out that next Saturday. She’s been to the doctor regularly since and levels have been fine and she said she has been eating and feeling better. Well on Monday I got the scariest call of my life when Lee called saying she had passed out again and he couldn’t wake her up. We called 911 they took her in thinking it was a stroke, then while she was in the ER waiting on an ICU bed she started seizing. They got that under control and ran hundreds of tests, CT’s, MRI’s and found zero damage from the seizure, zero NEW stroke activity (meaning she’s had one from the time she left in June until she went in on Monday without us knowing) they said all of her organs and oxygen and blood are working perfectly. Her reflexes are fine. Covid negative. They did a spinal tap this afternoon and preliminary results are showing a clear liquid which they say is good meaning no meningitis but still waiting on the final results. The scary part of this and why this is so dangerous is because every time she isn’t sedated she’s combative and confused not knowing anyone or anything that is going on and in turn endangering herself every time she wakes. All we know now is they are calling in another neurologist as soon as they get the results back to staff together but they say they have no idea what is causing the confusion and said that they are just going to wait and keep eliminating. I am asking for anything that you can spare to help us with medical bills, anything that Lee might need as well as travel expenses IF we have to go that far. I have never done anything like this before and would not be doing it if we didn’t need it. We also need you to start praying now if you haven’t and please don’t stop. Thank you.
