Help Storm Get the Heart Surgery She Needs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Monica, and I’m raising funds for heart surgery for my sweet puppy, Storm. I never thought I’d be here, asking for help this way, but I’d do anything for my little Stormi girl.
If you know me, you know that I’ve dreamed of having a French bulldog since I was a kid.
When we met Storm, it was love at first sight. She’s funny, playful, loving, and so full of life. I’ve never met a dog like her before.
At her very first vet appointment, we learned she had a grade 4 heart murmur. We were told she might grow out of it but to prepare ourselves for the possibility of bad news.
That bad news came sooner than we could have imagined. The next day Storm started showing UTI symptoms, so we rushed her to the emergency vet. There, they also picked up on her heart murmur and urged us to see a cardiologist right away so we did.
At just 7 weeks old, Storm was diagnosed with severe pulmonic stenosis a dangerous narrowing of the valve that carries blood from her heart to her lungs. Her heart pressure measured at 124 (normal is under 50). The vet gave her less than a year to live and even suggested we consider putting her down before we got too attached.
Storm isn’t in pain. If her heart gave out, we were told it would feel like falling asleep. We decided then and there that as long as she’s happy and not in any pain we’ll give her the best life we can full of cookies, toys, walks, cuddles, and love.
She started taking Atenolol twice a day and with the medication, Storm’s heart pressure has dropped into the 90s. And at her recent check-up with her cardiologist we found out that Storm is a candidate for balloon valvuloplasty and a stent placement surgery. This surgery has a 75% success rate and could give her the chance at a long, happy, almost normal life!
The surgery is very expensive but I’m determined to give Storm every chance at life I can. I would max out every credit card, take on every loan, do whatever it takes to give her the time on earth she deserves. But I’m realizing can’t do it alone and need to put my pride to the side.
So, I’m asking. If you can help, in any amount, it would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing Storm’s story would help so much too.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for Storm. She deserves the world.
Her surgery is booked for July 8th 2025.
