Future Medical & Legal Expenses
Donation protected
On Sunday, April 17, 2016, the life of our 21 year old son, Norris Goode Jr. was forever altered. He was viciously stabbed by (2) men at a neighbors fishing pond ultimately leaving him with a huge gash in his right tricep that ripped thru his tendon and a knife blade broken off inside his brain.

After 6 hours of surgery, the tendon was repaired and the knife blade was removed from his brain but not without possible lifelong delimitations. Norris may experience weakness in his right arm forever and the blade severed an optic nerve that now has impacted his vision. There may be other long term affects. Norris has a long physical and emotional road to recovery.

Many people, companies, churches and organizations have asked us how can they help? How can they raise funds to assist our family in our unexpected time of distress and need? The compassion has been overwhelming and our family is not use to being on this side of the receiving end. We would much rather be on the giving end. Our pride did not want to burden anyone with our troubles and we were not initially comfortable with using GoFund Me as it has become inundated and abused over time. Nonetheless, after much consideration, we humbly lower our pride and will accept our loved ones, and our communities assistance as you feel led to thru this tool since it seems to be the easiest for all.
Trust me, your prayers and hugs are just as valuable as any donation to us, so please do not feel obligated. And please disregard if you have already extended your hearts and hands to us! Thank you!!!!
Any donations will be used for Norris' future medical and legal expenses. We do have medical insurance but we have no way of knowing all that will and will not be covered at this time. We also will need assistance for future legal expenses as we will have to fight for Norris' future further down the road. This event has also negatively impacted Norris' academic career. He was close to the end of his Spring semester at VSU and the outcome of that is still uncertain. Both Norris Jr. and I have been on leave without pay during this entire event which impacted our weekly income and bills. Overall, this has been taxing for our family as we have attempted to keep up with our daily lives with 3 children, (2) in college.
God will provide and we cannot thank everyone enough for the outpouring love for Norris! He is a fighter and determined to come back stronger than ever! Keep praying for us! We believe in a complete and total healing! Blessings to you!
